We were approached by CSA Architects of Truro to quote and design for a curved roof frame with a U value of 0.12 W/mk2 for a commercial building.

After completing the frame we were asked by the client, Andy Goodman of Heath House Business Services, if we would complete the remaining construction work, which included all window fitting, cladding, balconies, plaster board and plastering and second fix carpentry.

The time scale for construction of the timber frame including the insulation was for a period of 6 weeks.

The contract works were started end of February 2012 and construction was fully completed by the last week in July 2012.

Fast becoming a speciality of ours. On Site Framing has become very experienced in the conversion of single storey into two storey dwellings.

We built the new frame over the top of the existing roof which was then removed, after the felt and batten were installed, keeping the shell water tight, this method of construction saved the costs of covered in scaffolding this allowed the client to reduce the overall cost of the project.

We were asked to provide a water tight package on this contact which included Cladding, windows and temporary roof covers.

We started this project in the last week of May 2012 and the works were completed by the last week in July 2012.

For this exciting and very bespoke project we were asked by our clients Michelle and Alan Williams to design and produce a very different timber frame option.

They wanted to have the look of an Oak built frame without having the consideration of movement taking place. This method saved the clients from having to use two separate companies during the build.

We designed a standard frame with a U value of 0.19 W/mk2 and installed a hand cut oak frame internally once the timber frame was complete. This gave the flexibility of placing the oak A frames where the client wanted rather than having to consider structural requirements.

All the oak joints were hand crafted On Site giving this frame a very bespoke look and overall cutting the project costs considerably, but still giving the look of an Oak structural frame. Please contact us for more information on this build method.

We also installed all of the facia boards and cladding on this self build.

We started this timber frame in October 2011 and the works were completed by the end of January 2012.

We were approached for yet another conversion from a single to a two storey. We stripped the roof off in two sections and built the new timber frames to suit.

We installed the windows, handmade Oak from Deveron Joinery, rendered externally, felt, battening and tiled the roof. The internal plaster boarding and plastering was then carried out after the first fix was completed.

We started at the beginning of January 2012 and were completed by first week in April 2012.

Converting this bungalow into a house was one of our first conversions, Our Client June Bertram wanted a well insulated frame and felt our company could overcome the structural issues of building a timber frame to an old building. We instructed our engineer to design a frame suitable for this project.

The frame was insulated to a U value of 0.19 W/MK2.

We demolished the existing roof, installed our timber frame, installed windows, slated the roof and rendered the building externally, we also plaster boarded and plastered internally.

This contact started in the last week of May 2011 and was completed by the middle of June 2011.

We were approached by a developer to design and install two frames for a semi detached pair of houses.

These were both completed within four weeks.

We cover all of Cornwall and the Plymouth area of Devon.

What our customers say...
  • Dan and his team at Onsite Framing have been excellent from the moment we started the quotation process to the completion of the contract. It is inevitable on a contract like this that things change but Dan coped with each one with a smile (grimace?) and has helped with ideas to overcome issues that arose during the build without drama...

Andy Goodman - Mylor Bridge, Cornwall

  • As the site for the new house has very limited access, I found Onsite Framing ideal for the job as any problems or changes could be easily rectified.

Friendly and helpful, I would happily recommend them - in fact I already have!

    Moira Leedham - Towan Cross

  • I would use this company again they did a good job, started when they said they would and finished when they said they would. All the builders were easy to talk to and pleasant to deal with. No problems, there were just challenges. I now have a house which is warm and well insulated.

    June Bertram - Veryan

  • We looked at several builders and build methods for our new home, but standing out from the rest was On Site Framing. Their approach was well suited to us and lends itself for the flexibility needed to achieve the bespoke house we required. We would not hesitate to recommend Dan and his excellent team...

Michelle and Alan Williams - Trevellas

  • We are really pleased to have appointed Onsite Framing as our main contractor to substantially remodel and extend our home. In a project of this scale and complexity good communication is key and a real strength of Dan Fielder and his team was to be able to communicate effectively, liaising between ourselves as client, our architect and structural engineer...
